Footy heads down to windy Hobart on Sunday afternoon, where the Kangaroos will look to break back into the Top 8 when they take on the 2nd-placed Eagles. West Coast have now won 3 on the trot, and despite losing Nic Nat for the season they looked primed for a Home Qualifying Final. These games are easy to drop though, and Hobart has been a fortress for North over the last few years. The Weagles will need to be flying high to ensure they can look down on these Roos, safely ensconced in second place.

North Melbourne (WLWLL) – After a season above all expectations, North have started to deteriorate over the past month, with the absence of Jarrad Waite robbing them of some much needed strikepower. Despite winning the contested ball and clearance battle against Collingwood, their lack of leg speed through the middle was once again badly exposed. At their best in the Sydney game, they were manic with their attack on the footy and generated huge amounts of momentum. Works a whole lot better on a smaller oval, though.

West Coast (LLWWW) – Safe to say the Eagles are back! The return of their 3-pronged forward attack came at an important time, and the trio were impressive against the Dogs- combining for 7 majors in what was a scrappy game. Elliot Yeo and Jeremy McGovern have been superlative in the back half, but the midfield will still be giving Adam Simpson some cause for concern. They really should have won this game by 70+.

What To Expect

Predicted to be the closest game of the round, this match is shaping up to be a see-sawing encounter. Hobart always has a 3-4 goal breeze, and the toss is often vital in games here- so keep your eye on it punters! Wolfie really likes the Wire to Wire in this one. While the Eagles have a potent forward line, Hobart is a tough place to win and the Kangaroos won’t go down without a fight. Could be entertaining for the purists, this one!
