Geelong vs Brisbane: One step away

Good evening, and welcome to preliminary final weekend! You will hear from all and sundry over the next two days that this – not the grand final – is the best weekend of footy of the year, so let’s hope they are correct.
Tonight we head to the MCG as Geelong welcome Brisbane to their quasi-home ground with a spot in the grand final at stake. The Cats have had the luxury of a week off after their thrilling qualifying final win over Collingwood, while the Lions are riding a wave of momentum after two stunning wins over Richmond and Melbourne.
There’s a lot on the line tonight, but fortune will favour the brave. It shapes as an enthralling contest in prospect.
